Our Services

At Black Pear Physio we aim to get you better as fast as possible, using safe and effective treatments that have been documented in the scientific literature as being best options for your condition.

No treatment is given until a thorough assessment has been made. This involves firstly talking to you, the patient, about the problem and the desired outcome. Then a physical examination takes place and the condition and the treatment options are discussed with you.

An agreed course of action is put into place to remedy the condition. Subsequent visits are used to monitor the condition and to agree any modifications to the treatment. This process ensures that an appropriate and acceptable treatment is applied at each session.

Following assessment we may use one or more of the following treatments:

  • Manipulation
  • Soft tissue or joint mobilizations
  • Acupuncture
  • Electrotherapy
  • Exercise prescription

A recent practice audit has shown that the average number of treatments given to each patient for a condition is less than four sessions – the national average is 5 and above. It is our policy to teach you, our patient, to be self-dependant rather than therapist-dependant when a condition cannot be cleared and needs to be managed to maintain a high quality of life.
